HEALTH EQUITY INNOVATION SUMMIT

Future Directions in Personalized Medicine, Genomics , and Clinical Care

One of the biggest buzzwords in health care today is equity. While a spotlight is shining on making health care accessible to all, gaps remain based on socioeconomic status, race, ethnicity, and geography. Equity challenges are likely to increase in the near future as personalized medicine and genomics usher in a new wave of diagnostics and treatments. The Health Equity Innovation Summit explores this landscape—its challenges and solutions.

Presented by TAMU Health, a key player in healthcare delivery in Texas, the Summit will feature expert panels and speakers discussing the determinants of healthcare equity, including uneven access to clinical trials and cutting-edge treatments. These experts will discuss policy and practice actions to build networks and collaborations that can promote increased equity and begin to address workforce shortages that affect many Texans, especially those living in rural areas.

The Summit brings together diverse stakeholders to share thoughts and ideas about why and how to create a Texas-based genomic registry to provide enhanced patient care for underserved populations. Texas A&M Health Science Center leaders and researchers want to extend collaboration with a variety of stakeholders to determine the best path for this technology to be embedded in Texans’ preventative and precision healthcare so that the value and benefits of a genetic registry can be made available and acceptable to all Texans.

At the Summit, participants will have the opportunity to meet and engage with early-stage technology companies developing devices, AI systems and  new methodologies related to building and sustaining genomic registries.

HEALTH EQUITY INNOVATION SUMMIT

Future Directions in Personalized Medicine,
Genomics and Clinical Care

Presented by

October 17th-18th
Capital Factory | Omni Hotel
Austin, TX

Health care is changing dramatically with personalized medicine and related tools and technologies at the forefront. One of the biggest challenges facing clinicians, community stakeholders, and policymakers is ensuring that these changes result in optimal health for all. This Summit will focus on the value of creating a genomic registry to provide enhanced patient care for underserved populations. It will consider historic inequities in health care and explore challenges and solutions to augment patients’ quality of life, expand access to state-of-the-art treatments, and increase the life expectancy of individuals across Texas through innovations in medical care. By introducing each topic, thought leaders will stimulate audience dialogue through shared perspectives.
